Florence Phantoms News Release
Omar Jacobs the American Indoor Football Association MVP is returning to the Florence Phantoms for the 2009 season. Jacobs first year in the AIFA was a resounding success as he lead the Phantoms to a 13-4 record and a AIFA Bowl II championship over the Wyoming Cavalry 48-12. Jacobs was the top rated passer in the AIFA and lead an explosive offense to ten straight victories." were obviously ecstatic to have him back we have struggled offensively over the first two games and he brings the component we were missing" said vp Bennie King.
The Phantoms take on the Columbus Lions this weekend in the first of three match ups this year. "Columbus is a great team coach Gibson does a good job putting together a strong indoor football team" said King. Columbus has a trio of impressive wide receivers that will deal with one of the best secondaries in indoor football lead by Defensive Specialist Larry Thompson. Saturday's game will begin at 7:35 at the Florence Civic Center. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the civic center box office call 843-432-5425 for more details.
