
Phantoms Sign All-Star WR A.J. Bennett

Florence Phantoms News Release
Florence Phantom Vice President of Operations Bennie King announced today that he has signed A. J. Bennett to play this season with The Phantoms. A.J. is a 5'10 190lb wide receiver who played last season with the Lakeland Thunderbolts. A. J. played collegiately at Eastern Michigan University, where he was a four year starter. Bennett was signed as an undrafted free agent with Cincinnati Bengals in 2006.In Lakeland his 34 touchdowns help lead the Thunderbolts to an AIFA championship and secured himself an all-star game nomination. Sidelined for both of the previous games A.J. is now ready to bring his scoring ways to the Pee Dee Area.
"This is a player that I really wanted, I am glad to have him signed and I look forward to what A. J. is going to bring to Florence", said King. When asked about signing to the Phantom Bennett remarked, "This year I will not be overlooked, my performance will speak for itself.
