
Phantoms open up 2008 Season Saturday

Florence Phantoms News Release
The Florence Phantoms begin the 2008 American Indoor Football Association regular season Saturday verse the Baltimore Mariners at the Florence Civic Center at 7:30 pm.The Phantoms are under a new look this season lead by Coach Tavares Bowens, Coach Bowens last year was the Fullback and Linebacker coach for the Lakeland Thunderbolts."Coach Bowens gives the organization great leadership and experience and most importantly a coach committed to Florence and the Pee Dee area." said VP Bennie King.The Phantoms boast a quite impressive roster this season.On offense the Phantoms are lead by former college all American and NFL player Omar Jacobs."Omar is talented we are excited about his development in camp and look forward to him being behind center Saturday". The Phantoms face a Baltimore Mariner team under Head Coach Chris Simpson that lost to the Reading Express last week 36-27."Baltimore played the league finalists tough and we expect their same effort Saturday"."Baltimore showed last week they can play with the elite in this league we need to come out strong and play well" said Coach Bowens.
Saturday's game will begin at 7:30 pm tickets are still available at the Florence Civic Center.
