Phantoms open East Division Finals on Wednesday

(PHILADELPHIA, May 1, 2005) - After defeating the Norfolk Admirals in six games in the East Division Semifinals, the Philadelphia Phantoms will continue their run to the 2005 Calder Cup this week when they open the East Division Finals against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday at the Wachovia Center.
The Phantoms, who finished second in the East Division with a 48-25-3-4 record (103 points), will host Games One and Two of the best-of-seven series on Wednesday, May 4 and Friday, May 6 at 7:05 p.m.
The fourth-seeded Penguins, who upset the Binghamton Senators in six games in the other division semifinal series, will host Games Three and Four on Saturday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 10. If necessary, Game Five would return to Philadelphia on Friday, May 13 or Thursday, May 12; Game Six would shift back to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, May 14 and Game Seven would occur at the Wachovia Center on either May 16 or 17.
The Phantoms went 4-6 vs. the Penguins in 2004-05. It is the second straight year the teams will play in the East Division Finals, and third time in franchise history that they will meet in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton prevailed in the series a year ago in six games.

Individual tickets for the Calder Cup Playoffs are on sale now. Walk-up prices for individual Phantoms playoff games are $16, $20 and $21 for adults, and $10 for all children 14 and under. However, fans ordering tickets in advance can save $1 per ticket off the walk-up price.
