Brad Boyes scored with 4:00 left in regulation, sending Providence into the Atlantic Division final with a 3-1 win over Manchester in Game 6 last night... It was the Bruins' first series victory since 2001, and the Monarchs' fourth straight first-round exit... Providence scored three times in the third period after falling behind, also getting a power-play goal from Patrice Bergeron and an empty-netter from Jayme Filipowicz... The Bruins, who scored 22 goals in six games against the AHL's second-ranked defense, were 1-for-4 on the power play last night and 8-for-36 (22.2%) in the series.

Providence will face Lowell in the second round after the Lock Monsters finished off Hartford with a 3-0 win in Game 6 last night... AHL All-Rookie netminder Cam Ward made 40 saves and Chuck Kobasew broke out of a series-long slump with two goals and an assist... Eric Staal added three assists for Lowell, which had never won a best-of-seven playoff series in its history... The Wolf Pack, who fell one goal shy of a trip to the Calder Cup Final in 2004, failed to win a series for the third time in the last five postseasons... The Lock Monsters and Bruins will open their division final on Friday at the Tsongas Arena.

Two 100-point teams fell last night; two more can be sent packing tonight... At the Bradley Center this afternoon (5:30 ET), defending Calder Cup champion Milwaukee gets one final chance to oust Cincinnati in Game 7, one year to the day after the Admirals beat the Mighty Ducks, 5-1, to win last year's playoff meeting in seven games... Milwaukee's Simon Gamache has eight points in three home games in the series (all wins), but none in the three road games (all losses)... Ilya Bryzgalov has stopped 62 of 64 shots (0.83, .969) since taking over in the Cincinnati net during Game 4.

In Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins can close out division champion Binghamton with a Game 6 win at home today (5:05 ET)... The Pens have won three straight, limiting the AHL's top offense to four goals over the last 12 periods of play... Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is 6-5 all-time in potential series-clinchers... Andy Chiodo has turned aside 65 of the 67 shots he has faced on home ice in the series (0.70, .970)... The Penguins can become just the eighth team in AHL history to win four straight after dropping Games 1 and 2 of a best-of-seven series.

Norfolk staved off elimination on Friday; now the series returns to Philadelphia for Game 6 tonight (7:05 ET) with the Phantoms still holding a 3-2 edge... Jeff Carter, who completed his junior career at Sault Ste. Marie (OHL) last month, has recorded four goals and six points in the series for Philly... The Phantoms have owned the second period during the series, outscoring the Admirals, 7-1, in the middle frame... The game will be part of a playoff doubleheader in the Wachovia Center, with the Sixers hosting Detroit in an NBA tilt this afternoon.
