The Peterborough Petes are proud to announce Dave Reid as their General Manager.
Dave was born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario and in 1981 was playing for the Mississauga Reps when he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Peterborough Petes. He enjoyed 3 successful years as a Pete, serving as co-captain in his veteran year.
Dave was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 1982 and remained with the organization until being signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs as a free agent in 1988. He was a member of the Leafs for 3 years, and in the
'90-'91 season led the NHL with 8 shorthanded goals. A feat which tied Dave Keons' 21 year old Maple Leaf record. He returned to Boston in 1991 before joining the Dallas Stars in 1996 where he would eventually win his first Stanley Cup in 1999. He spent his last two years in the NHL as a member of the Colorado Avalanche, where he would collect another Stanley Cup ring in 2001.
In 961 career NHL regular-season games, David tallied 369 points including 165 goals. Throughout his NHL career, Dave Reid was known for his tenacious defensive style of hockey.
Upon retirement from playing in 2001, Dave began a new career as a Hockey Analyst with the NHL Network and TSN. David resides in Ennismore, Ontario with his wife Kathy and their two children, Jessica and Alec.
