Peter Sivak Named AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Year

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today that Aces forward Peter Sivak has been named recipient of the AMI Graphics Plus Performer of the Year award for the 2013-14 ECHL regular season.

Sivak, 32, finished the season at +49, leading the league with the highest rating which is tied for third in the ECHL, all-time with Steve Poapst (Hampton Roads) in 1992-93 and Kim Maier (Knoxville) in 1995-96.

The 5-foot-11, 200 pound forward finished second in league scoring with 83 points (31g-52a) in 67 games, was second in shorthanded points (6) and led the ECHL in shots (256). He adds to his collection of awards for 2013-14 after earning All-ECHL First Team honors and receiving the ECHL Sportsmanship Award last week.

Sivak was even or better in 53 of his 67 games this season and was named ECHL Plus Performer of the Month (January) after leading the league with a +15 rating during the month.

Sivak is the third player and first forward in Aces history to capture the ECHL Plus Performer of the Year award.

Aces captain and center Nick Mazzolini finished tied for second (+37) in league plus-minus, shared with Mark Nemec of Colorado.
