Peppino's South to Host Griffins Watch Party for Game 5 on Saturday
May 13, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Saturday's watch party for Game 5 of the Central Division Finals between the Grand Rapids Griffins and Lake Erie Monsters will be held at Peppino's South, located at 1515 Eastport Drive SE near Kalamazoo Avenue and M-6. The event was moved from Peppino's Sports Grille in downtown Grand Rapids, site of the watch parties for Games 1 and 2, due to Saturday's Garth Brooks concerts and the anticipated parking shortage.
With the puck dropping at 7 p.m., join fellow Griffins fans and watch the action live from Quicken Loans Arena alongside the play-by-play of Bob Kaser. For fans who do not purchase an AHLLive subscription, Peppino's offers the only way to watch the Griffins on the road as they continue their quest for the Calder Cup.
The Griffins return to Cleveland following their dramatic 5-4 win over the Monsters at Van Andel Arena on Tuesday, when they overcame a 4-1 deficit by scoring four times in the final 21 minutes, tying the greatest playoff comeback in franchise history. Grand Rapids is trying to become the fourth team in AHL history to win a best-of-seven series after trailing 3-0.
A Griffins win would force a Game 6 at Van Andel Arena on Monday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at all Star Tickets locations, including The Zone, online through griffinshockey.com, by phone through Star Tickets at (800) 585-3737, or via the Griffins app for iPhone or Android.
