Peoria's Kyle Rank Named Sher-Wood Goaltender of the Year

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Tuesday announced that Kyle Rank of the Peoria Rivermen has been selected as the Sher-Wood Goaltender of the Year in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives.

Rank becomes the first two-time winner of the award, having earned the honor last year when his eight shutouts set a new SPHL single-season record.

Peter Di Salvo of the Mississippi RiverKings finished second in the voting.

Rank went 27-12-2 with a 2.40 goals against average, .916 save percentage and two shutouts in leading the Rivermen to the regular season championship. His 27 wins is tied for second-most in a season in SPHL history.
