
Pensacola's Ross MacKinnon Named Easton Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - (March 25, 2014) The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced goaltender Ross MacKinnon of the Pensacola Ice Flyers is the Easton Player of the Month for March.
MacKinnon went 6-0-0, posting one shutout, a 1.14 goals against average and .961 save percentage as the Ice Flyers finished the regular season on an 11-game winning streak and extended their consecutive-game point streak to 22. The Manchester, CT native has not allowed more than two goals in a game since a 5-4 victory over Louisiana on February 21.
MacKinnon, who lost his only game in regulation on December 8, finished the regular season tied for the league-lead with 22 wins (22-1-3 overall) and ranked second with a 2.02 goals against average and .929 save percentage. MacKinnon earned President's Cup Most Valuable Player honors last season, going 6-1 with a 1.24 goals against average and .956 save percentage as he led the Ice Flyers to their first-ever SPHL championship. Between the regular season and playoffs, MacKinnon is 42-6-3 in his SPHL career with a 1.93 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.
