Penn FC News Release
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Penn FC (9-14-9, 36 pts) is set to host the New York Red Bulls II (11-8-13, 38 pts) on Tuesday night in the penultimate match of the season.
Rush Soccer's First Team enters the match coming off of the club's first result in five matches as the Blue and White played to a 2-2 draw last Wednesday night against the Charlotte Independence (10-11-12). The club looks to maintain it's offensive momentum as Wednesday's match marked the first multi-goal scoring effort for the side since Sept. 2 when the club claimed a 3-1 victory against the Bethlehem Steel.
The Red Bulls enter the match coming off of crucial 2-1 victory on the road against a North Carolina FC side very much in the playoff race. the club entered the match up sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings and only one point behind North Carolina FC in 9th. The upset win for the away side vaulted the 2016 USL Champions into the 8th and final playoff spot passing both the aforementioned North Carolina FC and Ottawa Fury FC. The Red Bull offense will prove to be a stern test of Penn FC's backline as the club currently ranks 4th in the league in goals scored (66).
Penn FC look to play spoiler as a home victory would make it that much more difficult for Red Bulls II to stay in position to claim the last playoff spot. The match shapes up to be a high scoring affair as Red Bulls II not only ranking in the top 10 in the league in goals scored but also in goals conceded.
Penn FC takes on New York Red Bulls II Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Gates at FNB Field will open at 5 p.m. Tickets for the match are available at pennfc.com/tickets. Fans unable to make it to FNB Field can watch the match on the ESPN+ streaming platform.
