
Penn FC Signs Fabio De Sousa

Harrisburg, PA - Penn FC has announced the signing of forward Fabio De Sousa, who will play his first professional season in Harrisburg.
De Sousa joins the Penn FC attack after playing for the New York City Red Bulls U23 team in the Premier Development League during the 2017 season. He played in 13 regular season games and one playoff game last year. De Sousa contributed three goals and three assists to the team's offensive efforts.
De Sousa played collegiately at Rutgers University-Newark from 2016-17. As an underclassman, De Sousa led the Scarlet Raiders in scoring both years as the team won 20 plus games in two straight seasons and won its first New Jersey Athletic Conference title in 2017. As a freshman, he scored 14 goals and assisted eight more before scoring 18 goals and assisting seven more as a sophomore. De Sousa was clutch as 17 of his career goals were game winners. He started 44 of 48 games played while leading all offensive players with 1,538 minutes played in 2017.
Following the end of the 2017 season, De Sousa was recognized as D3soccer.com All-American First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-American First Team, USC All-South Atlantic Region First Team, NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, Eastern College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, All-NJAC First Team, and All-ECAC First Team. De Sousa was recognized with many of the same awards his freshman season while also earning NJAC Rookie of the Year.
