Hershey Bears News Release

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Kael Mouillierat's power play goal 2:31 into overtime helped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins edge out the Hershey Bears by a 2-1 score on Monday night at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The series returns to Hershey tied at two wins for each team.

It appeared that the opening period would be headed for a chippy start after the teams got together at the red line during warmups, but the opponents got right to work playing hockey. The Penguins had a good chance first but Justin Peters would find a rebound chance by Carter Rowney with his catching glove. At the other end, Tristan Jarry would turn away all nine shots fired his way.

Penalties would end up deciding the game, as Tom Kostopoulos scored the first of the three power play tallies on the night. Set up in the middle slot, Kostopoulos redirected a pass from Will O'Neill past Peters at 5:53 of the second period, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead.

But Hershey would counter, forcing the Penguins into two consecutive penalties that gave Hershey 1:19 worth of a two-man advantage. Unable to capitalize with the five-on-three, the Bears battled the crowd noise and found the equalizer when Carter Camper buried the second rebound left by Jarry at 9:37.

The Bears withstood a barrage of chances in the third period. Despite being outshot 14-2, Peters kept the Bears in the contest and forced the overtime. Tempers flared at the end of regulation, resulting in a four-on-four situation to start the extra session. Adding a holding minor to Hershey's side, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton earned a four-on-three chance. The Bears appeared to dodge the bullet but with just two seconds left in the five-on-four, Mouillierat jumped on the rebound of Tom Sestito's chance at the net front and slammed it home for the winner.

Peters made 28 saves on 30 shots but saw his record drop to 5-3 in the postseason. Jarry turned away 22 of 23 shots in his postseason debut.  The Bears finished the night 1-for-6 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill.

A pivotal game five will be played on Wednesday, May 11 at 7:00 PM at GIANT Center. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, by calling (717) 508-BEAR, and online at TicketMaster.com.
