Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have loaned forward Denver Manderson to the Wheeling Nailers, while the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Carl Sneep from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Wheeling.
Sneep, 25, has appeared in one game this season for the Penguins. In an injury-shortened 2011-12, the Nisswa, MN-native notched ten assists in 40 contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Now a third-year pro, Sneep made his NHL debut last year with Pittsburgh on Dec. 17 versus Buffalo.
Manderson, 23, did not appear in any games for the Penguins this regular season, having suffered an injury during the exhibition schedule. A rookie last season with the Nailers, Manderson registered 40 points (18g-22) in 52 games. He ranked third on the team in goals (18) and fourth in points (40).
The Penguins face the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3:00 PM. Season tickets for the Penguins' 14th season in the American Hockey League are on sale now, and available by calling (570) 208-PENS.
