B-Sens Split Norfolk Series with 4-2 Loss

NORFOLK, VA. - After coming away with a victory last night, the Binghamton Senators fell to the Norfolk Admirals tonight, 4-2, at the Scope Arena to split the weekend series. Total shots on goal favored the Admirals, 44-42.

The first period concluded with the Admirals leading the B-Sens, 2-0. Defenseman Hampus Lindholm scored an unassisted goal at 9:43 to give Norfolk the early lead. Forward Peter Holland, assisted by Kyle Palmieri, added to the score at 16:52. Binghamton allowed 26 shots on goal during the opening period of play.

The B-Sens began the second with a goal scored by captain Andre Benoit from Shane Prince and Corey Cowick at 3:10. The assist marks Prince's first professional point of his career. The Admirals regained their two-goal lead at 6:25 as Holland scored his second goal of the night, this time assisted by Palmieri and Luca Caputi.

Norfolk extended their lead to three goals at 6:07 into the third period on a goal by Palmieri from Holland. The pair of Admirals both accumulated three points on the night. The B-Sens were able to net another goal with 11:34 remaining in regulation but were unable to come away with a victory. Patrick Wiercioch, assisted by Tyler Eckford and Ben Bishop, made for a final score of 4-2 in favor of the Admirals.

Frederik Andersen earned the win in goal for Norfolk tonight as he stopped 40 of the 42 shots he faced. Bishop came away with the loss for the B-Sens as he made 40 saves out of a total of 44 Norfolk shots. The B-Sens and Admirals will rematch on Saturday, November 10 at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for their third of eight meetings this season.

The B-Sens will wrap up their six-game road trip on Wednesday with a visit to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05 PM.
