PEI Rocket Season Ticket Update
July 1, 2009 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
P.E.I. Rocket News Release
Fans have been consistently requesting information on how things are going with season tickets for the PEI Rocket. As an update, the PEI Rocket are extremely pleased to announce that season tickets have exceeded last year's early bird campaign and are now well on the way to our goal.
Due to several requests regarding the July 1st holiday, the PEI Rocket have announced an extension to the early bird pricing for two additional days this week. General Manager Kent Hudson explained that "we have had many requests from fans requesting an additional few days due to the July 1st holiday and the PEI Rocket are pleased to accommodate this request".
"This has been a fantastic campaign so far and we want to extend it to capitalize on the excitement that currently exists for our organization", said President Serge Savard, Jr. "We have really tried to listen to our fans so that we can reach our goal of 2,500 season tickets. We want fans to be able to take advantage of the discounted price during these more difficult economic times", added Savard.
At this point, the team has announced that they have over 1,000 season tickets sold, which is well ahead of last year's pace at the same time. Close to 100 brand new season ticket holders have purchased tickets, and more than 25 former season ticket holders have returned. "But, there is a long way to go to reach the goal of 2,500 season tickets", said GM Kent Hudson. "Last year, the team had about 1,600 season ticket holders so we have plenty of work remaining", added Hudson.
"We know that there are more Rocket hockey fans out there...it is just a matter of finding them and bringing them back into the arena", said GM Kent Hudson. "It is a long and cold winter on PEI and we want to make sure that Rocket Hockey is a social event where people will look forward to getting out and about for 34 regular season home games. I think if people give us a chance, they will be very impressed with the changes we have made and the product on the ice. We hope that Islanders will embrace this team...we will work hard to earn your trust and respect. Our team is important to the Island community and we hope fans will be a part of it".
The team is extending the early bird renewal program until Friday, July 3rd. The Rocket also announced that they will keep the office open until 7:00 PM on both Thursday and Friday evenings this week to ensure that people have the opportunity to drop in after work on either day. Fans are reminded that they can renew online, by phone or fax, or by dropping in to the Rocket office on the 2nd floor of the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
