
Peanut's homer leads Flyers to victory

The Flyers bounced back from a tough series loss in San Diego to take the first game of a three game series in Fullerton against the same Surf Dawgs. Groeger gave up three runs through six innings, while striking out seven to earn his sixth victory.
The Flyers jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the 2nd inning after Peanut's GBL leading 18th homerun.
The Flyers scored in the 1st inning after Clemente Bonilla, who was making his Flyers debut, doubled down the right field line. Garry Templeton II scored the run on a wild pitch by Brent Porciau.
Bret Levier executed a perfect hit-and-run to set the Flyers up with runners at the corners and nobody out in the 2nd inning. Templeton II drove in Hector Zamora from third base and Levier ended up scoring on a wild pitch.
The Flyers tacked on a run when Jesse Schmidt scored on Trevor Hall's RBI single in the 7th inning.
Will Henderson got San Diego on the board with a solo homer in the 2nd inning.
The Surf Dawgs added two more runs in the 3rd inning on Matt Maloney's two-RBI base hit.
After Reed Dickert gave up his first earned run of the season in the 9th inning, Wes Faust came in to retire the last batter and earn his eighth save.
Jeremy Sugarman will look to get back to his winning ways Wednesday night as the Flyers are now within 1.5 games of first place Chico.
