ALBANY, NY - The Continental Basketball Association is pleased to announce that Yakama Sun Kings head coach Paul Woolpert is the recipient of the Stan Novak CBA Coach of the Year award. This is Woolpert's second CBA Coach of the Year honor, having won the award last season with the Sun Kings.

During the 2007-08 season, Woolpert set all-time records for the best winning percentage in a season, .895 and for the highest quarter point average, 5.50 a game for Yakama. Woolpert's Sun Kings also tied the record for most 7-0 victories with eight this season. Along with these records, the Sun Kings won 43 games, the most ever in a 48 game schedule. The Sun Kings started the season off with a 14 game winning streak, lost a game, and then rattled off 17 more wins, losing one game in 77 days.

For the third consecutive season, and forth in his coaching career, Woolpert was named the 2008 CBA All-Star Classic head coach of the CBA's National (Western) Conference. Woolpert guided his All-Stars to a 109-107 victory in front of a standing-room only crowd in his home building, the Yakama Sun Dome, home of the 2008 All-Star Classic.

During the 2007-08 season, Woolpert was able to earn several other distinctions and achievements, including his 248th CBA coaching victory and his 200th win as the Sun Kings' head coach. Woolpert's 248 victories places him fifth all-time in CBA coaching wins.
