
Patterson, Carmichael Named Players of the Week

HUNTSVILLE, AL â James Patterson was named the South East Hockey League Player of the Week and Matt Carmichael was named the Goaltender of the Week as the Huntsville Channel Cats went 2-0 for the week with wins over Cape Fear and Knoxville.
Patterson scored two goals and three assists last week. He tallied the game winning goal on 11/20 in the 5-1 victory over Cape Fear. Patterson, from Wayne, Michigan was the 1999/2000 CHL "Rookie of the Year" and he has taken over the SEHL scoring lead with 3 goals and 16 assists for 19 points in 10 games. Patterson also leads the league in assists with 16 and in power play assists with 9.
Carmichael stopped 80 of 83 shots on goal for the week. The Ottawa, Ontario native improved his record to 7-3 on the season and has posted a 2.76 goals against average and a 92.2% save percentage. Carmichael leads the league in minutes (564:46), wins (7) and saves (309). He is second in goals against average and save percentage. This is Carmichael's third season in Huntsville; having played for both of the city's CHL franchises, the original Channel Cats and Tornado.
The Channel Cats will host the Knoxville Ice Bears on Thursday night at 7:05.
