Patten Selected by Panther City Lacrosse Club in Expansion Draft

Panther City Lacrosse Club selected defenseman Liam Patten during the NLL Expansion Draft on Tuesday night.

Patten recorded three points (2+1) in four games as a rookie with Buffalo in 2018 before spending the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the Philadelphia Wings. He was reacquired in a trade with Philadelphia in August 2020.

Panther City - based in Fort Worth, Texas - is joining the NLL in 2021-22 as the league's 14th franchise. The club was able to select one non-protected player from each of the other 13 teams to build its initial roster.

The Bandits' protected list was as follows:

Offense: Josh Byrne, Chris Cloutier, Chase Fraser, Brad McCulley, Dhane Smith

Defense: Ian MacKay, Justin Martin, Steve Priolo, Matt Spanger, Bryce Sweeting

Goaltender: Matt Vinc
