Florida Tuskers News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL - Friday, December 3, 2010 - Florida Tuskers defensive end Eric Moore has signed a contract with the New England Patriots of the National Football League and has been added to the team's active roster.
Under contract with the UFL until February 28, Moore was subject to the UFL transfer fee, which was reduced to $25,000 to allow players the option of personally paying the amount in the event an NFL team would not make the payment.
Moore joined the Tuskers on October 4 after spending the 2010 training camp with the Carolina Panthers, and was on Florida's roster for the final five regular-season games and the United Football League Championship Game. During the regular season, Moore had two sacks, 12 total tackles, two passes defended, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a half-tackle for loss. In the UFL Championship Game, Moore posted 1.5 total tackles and a tackle for loss.
Prior to his time in the UFL, Moore had spent four seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants (2005), New Orleans Saints (2006) and St. Louis Rams (2006-08), playing in 29 games. Originally a sixth-round draft choice of the Giants in 2005, his career NFL totals include 31 tackles and two sacks.
The Patriots (9-2) host the New York Jets (9-2) in an intriguing AFC East match up on Monday Night at Gillette Stadium.
