Patriots open player tryouts set

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., September 1-The Fayetteville Patriots will hold their fourth annual open player tryouts October 9-10 at the Highland Recreation & Fitness Center in Fayetteville. The open player tryouts provide local talent with the opportunity to earn a spot in the Patriots 2004-05 training camp that begins in early November.

The tryout will be directed by the Patriots coaching staff. The first 100 players to complete all pre-registration forms, including a $100 registration fee (cashier's check or money order only), will be eligible for the camp. Registration will be $150 the day of tryouts.

The open player tryouts will feature one session per day, and both days are open to the public. The Saturday, October 9 session will run from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.. Patriots coaches will then select players from Saturday's session to advance to the Sunday, October 10 session that will run from 1-7 p.m.. With league approval, participants from the open player tryouts will have a chance to be invited to compete in the Patriots training camp..
