Patrick Kane named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Patrick Kane of the London Knights is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday March 18, 2007 after scoring five goals and six assists for 11 points in two games.

Kane started the week with a hand in seven of London's nine goals contributing four goals and three assists and was named the game's first star as the Knights defeated the Erie Otters 9-3 on home ice. The next night, Kane scored a goal and added two assists in a 6-4 win in Erie to complete the home and home series sweep against the Otters.

The 18-year-old rookie from Buffalo, NY concluded the regular season winning the Canadian Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League scoring titles recording 62 goals and 83 assists for 145 points in 58 games.

David Desharnais of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens was the QMJHL nominee after scoring three goals and five assists for eight points in three games. Zach Boychuk of the Lethbridge Hurricanes was the WHL nominee after scoring three goals and six assists for nine points in three games.
