Patrick Dodds Named to NLL All-Rookie Team
June 30, 2022 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Panther City Lacrosse Club News Release
FORT WORTH, TX - Panther City forward Patrick Dodds was named to the 2021-22 National Lacrosse League All-Rookie Team, the league announced today.
Dodds was named a Rookie of the Year finalist and was second among NLL rookies with a team-high 84 points on 26 goals and 58 assists. He scored the first game-winning goal in Panther City history at New York on January 15 and would go on to tally six or more points in five-straight games from February 20 to March 19, including an incredible 11-point outing against the Colorado Mammoth on March 11, where he tallied five of Panther City's 20 goals against the 2022 NLL Champions.
"We are all incredibly proud of Patrick Dodds for this accomplishment, as all of us here at Panther City Lacrosse Club know what a tremendous player he is, and what an even better person and teammate he is off the floor," Head Coach Tracey Kelusky said. "What impresses me most about Doddsy is that he is a student of the game and is never satisfied with his last performance. He will continue to push for advice and say, 'What's next?' That is an elite trait to have in this league and the ceiling for him is so high and I cannot wait to continue to watch his growth over the years into one of the more dominant players in our league."
The Victoria, British Columbia, native led his hometown Shamrocks to the Minto Cup in 2019 before being selected by the Calgary Roughnecks with the 21st pick in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft before being taken by Panther City with the sixth pick in the 2021 Expansion Draft. Under NLL Coach of the Year Tracey Kelusky, Dodds became just the ninth rookie in NLL history to surpass 50 assists on the season.
