
Pat Burns Arena To Go Up In Stanstead

STANSTEAD, Friday, March 26, 2010 - Construction on a new arena in Stanstead is set to begin in the next few months and city officials today confirmed that it will be named in honour of former QMJHL and NHL head coach Pat Burns.
The city made the announcement at a press conference held this morning at Collège Stanstead. Prime Minister Stephen Harper as well as a number of personalities from the hockey establishment, including Jacques Demers, Lou Lamoriello and Félix Potvin, were on hand for the official announcement.
Burns, the former head coach of the Hull Olympiques, was inducted into the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame in the spring of 2007.
