
PASL-Premier National Finals Share Stage with Ron Newman Cup

Get ready for wall-to-wall arena soccer this weekend at Del Mar Arena in San Diego.
On March 9 and 10 the PASL-Premier National Finals will share the stage with the PASL's Ron Newman Cup final four, marking the first time the amateur and pro playoffs were held concurrently at the same site.
Eight PASL-Premier teams will be split into two four-team groups. Round robin play will determine which two teams from each group will advance to Saturday's Semifinals and Final. The festivities begin at 10:15am with the host Sockers Premier facing the Northwest Division playoff champion WSA Rapids.
Group A features Sockers Premier, WSA Rapids, Las Vegas Knights (Southwest Division champions) , and Colorado Blizzard (Rocky Mountain Division champions).
Group B includes Deft Touch, CF Revolucion, Midwest Division playoff champion Louisville Rayo, and South Central Division champion Vitesse Dallas.
Sockers Premier (San Diego Sockers), CF Revolucion (Revolucion Tijuana) and Louisville Rayo (Louisville Lightning) are PASL-Premier pro affiliate teams. San Diego and Tijuana are also competing in the Ron Newman Cup playoffs this weekend along with the Kansas Magic and Detroit Waza.
The Knights are the PASL-Premier defending Winter Champions, and Vitesse Dallas won previously in 2008/09. The Sockers affiliate (last year known as San Diego Fusion) lost in last year's final to Las Vegas.
Each game in group play will be two 18-minute halves. The Championship game, which will be played Saturday at 5:05pm will be four 10-minute quarters.
The PASL Ron Newman Cup Semifinal games take place Friday at 5:05pm when Detroit takes on Tijuana followed by San Diego and Kansas at 7:35pm.
The Ron Newman Cup Final will be Saturday at 7:05pm.
