Parrots face another busy week/ Home Games Friday & Saturday

The Winston-Salem Parrots face another busy week with four upcoming games. The Parrots begin the week Tuesday night in Knoxville before returning to the Joel Coliseum Annex for games on Friday & Saturday night. And the Parrots wrap up the week in Fayetteville on Sunday afternoon.

The Parrots begin the week in fifth place in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. It's still a three-way dog fight for the final two ACHL playoff spots. The Macon Trax are currently in third place with 44 points, while the Fayetteville Fire Antz are fourth with 41 points. The Parrots are three points out of the final playoff spot with 38 points.

Parrots Transactions:

Head Coach Darryl Noren made a number of roster changes this past week. Defenseman Rustam Bakhriddinov was traded to Jacksonville and forward Kristoffer Lidbrandt was placed on waivers. Joining the Parrots were a trio of forwards: Ethan Burnes, who began the year with the Orlando Seals; Justin Martin, who signed a three-game try-out; and Rob Frost, who began the year with the Elmira Jackals of the UHL. Frost made an immediate impact over the weekend scoring three goals in three games.

John Gurskis is the team's leading scorer with 11 goals and 34 assists, good for 45 points.

Matt Holmes leads the Parrots in goals scored with 20. He also leads in shorthanded goals (4), and game winning goals (6).

Ken Fels leads the Parrots in penalty minutes with 177.
