Parrots begin tough six game road trip

The Winston-Salem Parrots begin their toughest part of the schedule with six games in the next nine nights. This is due, in part, to the Parrots having to make up games that were lost during the transfer of the team from Florida back in mid-December. All six games will be on the road. The Parrots return home to the Joel Coliseum Annex on Friday, February 28th @ 7:30PM to take on the Knoxville Ice Bears.
The Parrots begin the week in fifth place in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League with 36 points. The Parrots are three points behind fourth place Fayetteville and four points behind third place Macon.
Parrots Trade: To help bolster their defense, Head Coach Darryl Noren traded leading scorer, Chris Cerrella, to the Fayetteville Fire Antz late Saturday night. In return, the Parrots receive defenseman Mike Fournier. Fournier had appeared in all 47 Fire Antz games this season. The defenseman had 15 points (3 goals & 12 assists) and 166 penalty minutes.

Parrots Practice Schedule:
The Parrots will not practice this week at the Joel Coliseum Annex as the team is on the road the entire week.
Parrots Team Leaders:
John Gurskis is the team's leading scorer with 11 goals and 33 assists, good for 44 points.
Matt Holmes leads the Parrots in goals scored with 18. He also leads in shorthanded goals (3), and game winning goals (6).
Andrew Dickson leads the team in plus/minus with a +18 rating.
Ken Fels leads the Parrots in penalty minutes with 172.
