Panther City Lacrosse Club Loses Close One in Saskatchewan

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - The Panther City Lacrosse Club lost, 10-9, on Saturday evening in Saskatchewan, dropping their record to 3-4. This concludes Panther City's four-game road trip due to the rodeo at Dickies Arena, and will see the team return home next Friday, February 9 at 8 p.m. against the Colorado Mammoth.

Callum Crawford led Panther City offensively with five points (2G/3A) and recorded a point on all three of Panther City's power play successes with one power play goal and two power play assists. Will Malcom recorded a hat trick for the second consecutive week and finished the evening with four points (3G/1A). Forward Phil Caputo registered one goal and one assist on the evening and with that goal extended his goal-scoring streak to 14 games. Rookie Jason Knox also notched a goal for his eighth goal of the season.

Panther City dominated between the lines as they won the loose ball battle, 75-47, and had four players, including two forwards (W. Malcom and Mathieu Gautier) record at least eight loose balls. Gautier led the club with nine loose balls. Captain Matt Hossack and Ronin Pusch both had eight loose balls and caused one turnover, with Pusch also going 11-23 (47.8%) from the face-off dot. Transition Player Tony Malcom, who leads Panther City in loose balls, recorded seven loose balls on the evening and led the club with two caused turnovers. He also added two points (1G/1A) for the third time this season with those numbers.

Panther City will return home for a four-game stretch beginning next Friday on February 9 as the team takes on the Colorado Mammoth on national television as the game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m. CT. The game is a fan favorite as the team will celebrate their 'Texas Forever' night in Cowtown.
