Both teams enter the contest with a record of 1-3. Almost two years ago to the day (1/15/22), Panther City captured their first win in franchise history in New York, as they beat the Riptide, 13-12 in overtime on a former Panther City forward Patrick Dodds' goal.
Forward Callum Crawford continues to pace Panther City offensively, as he is coming off the best performance of the young 2023-24 season, as he recorded 8 points (3G/5A), including one short-handed goal in Panther City's defeat at Georgia last weekend. It was Crawford's third hat trick in four games this season.
Although he did not record a goal, only the fourth occurrence since donning the Panther City sweater, forward Will Malcom led the team with 4 assists, including two power play assists and a short-handed assist. Malcom leads the team with 13 assists and has recorded at least three assists in each game this season.
Last weekend, Transition Player Tony Malcom stuffed the stat sheet with 2 points (1G/1A), 9 LBs and 1 caused turnover. Second-year goalie Cam MacLeod made his first appearance of the '23-'24 season and played 42 minutes, while stopping 23 of the 29 shots (.793 SV %) he faced.
The Riptide are led by Jeff Teat who led New York to their first victory last weekend in a 9-point performance (5G/4A), and has 22 points (10G/12A) on the season through four games.
