April 7, 2024 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Panther City Lacrosse Club News Release
The Panther City Lacrosse Club (7-8) finishes out their double header weekend with their second matchup of the season against the Philadelphia Wings on Sunday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. at Dickies Arena. Ron Thulin (PxP), Dalton Jernigan (Analyst) and Maggie Hale (Floor Reporter) will be on the call with the game broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest Extra and ESPN+. Panther City lost their first game of the weekend, 14-10, to the San Diego Seals on Friday night.
Offensively for Panther City, 18-year veteran Callum Crawford continues to score at a high pace and was PCLC's leading scorer Friday night against Buffalo with six points on three goals and three assists. It was his seventh hat trick through 13 games this season. Crawford recorded one power play goal to record his 11th PPG of the season, which tied his career high. For Panther City, the franchise record for power-play goals in a single season was set by Phil Caputo last season when he recorded 12 PPG. Crawford also tied the franchise record for most goals scored in a single season with his 35th goal. He tied teammate Will Malcom who recorded 35 goals last season en route to setting the franchise record for goals in a single season (35), as well as points (96).
Will Malcom currently leads PCLC with 88 points (32G/56A) with three games remaining. He looks to be the first player in Panther City history to ever record a 100-point season.
Defensively, captain Matt Hossack paces the defense and leads the back-end unit with 79 loose balls and 24 caused turnovers in 13 games played. He set a career high last season with 28 caused turnovers, of which is also a franchise record.
Mitch Jones leads the way for the Wings with 96 points (28G/68A). American Joe Resetarits leads Philadelphia with 31 goals. Zach Higgins is in net for Philly and has made 615 saves with a 12.67 GAA.
