
Panasuk, Dominant Force Defense Earn Win at Season Home Opener

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force (2-0) earned its second victory with a 59-28 over the Duke City Gladiators on Saturday at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The Force's offense came out with visible focus as the team scored the first three touchdowns of the game within the initial ten minutes of the game. Starting off with a five yard pass from QB Stephen Panasuk to RB Quentin Benning, the team continued to carry the hype throughout the quarter including a 12-yard rushing touchdown by WR Clarence Anderson and four yard pass from Panasuk to WR Brett Soft. Panasuk later connect with Anderson for a two yard touchdown pass to give the Force a 28-7 lead over the Gladiators.
Late into the second quarter and carrying over to the start of the third, the Duke City Gladiators began to find an offensive rhythm resulting in three consecutive touchdowns bringing the score within three. With adjustments on the defensive side of the ball, the Force was able to shut down the Gladiators' offense that left the team scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
Wichita's offense heightened on the team's defense and gained momentum with each possession. Touchdowns by Panasuk, Anderson, and two by WR Ronald Davis rounded out the team's final scoring drives of the game.
Panasuk finished the night completing 15 of 22 passes for 175 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions along with one rushing touchdown. On defense, DB Evan Ray recorded two interceptions and one pass breakup. Anderson, also, earned his first forced fumble and recovery of his professional career.
The Force will travel to Chicago this week to face the Eagles on Friday at the UIC Pavilion in Illiana, Ill. Following a bye week, the team will return to INTRUST Bank Arena on Friday, April 1 to take on the Bloomington Edge for Faith and Family Night.
