Crystal Palace Baltimore News Release

uly 24th 2009 - Baltimore, MD - Saturday night is "Fan Appreciation Night" as Crystal Palace Baltimore take on the Charlotte Eagles at UMBC Stadium at 7:00pm in Palace's critical, final home game of the regular season. Ticket prices are just $10 (regularly $16) for everyone and the first 2,000 fans through the gates receive an 11"x17" 2009 team poster. The game is a "must-win" for Baltimore as they fight for the fifth and final playoff spot.

Palace are coming off a frustrating loss at home to Richmond last week, having beaten league-leading Harrisburg the week before. Charlotte drew their last game 1-1 at home with Real Maryland and the two teams face one another tonight in Rockville 6:00pm.

Palace currently sit in fifth spot in the league standings. The top five teams qualify for the playoffs and Baltimore is in a battle for that fifth and final spot, with Charlotte in sixth place, one point behind Baltimore and Real Maryland in fourth one point ahead, but both teams have two games in hand on Palace.

Andrew Marshall has recovered from his ankle injury and will be in the running for a starting spot, while Machel Millwood is unlikely to be available due to his ankle problem. Bryan Harkin is nursing a strained hamstring and will be a game-time decision.

Palace's final two games of the season are on the road, first in Harrisburg on August 7th and then in Pittsburgh August 15th. Tickets are currently still available for Saturday's match online at http://www.crystalpalaceusa.com/ through noon tomorrow.
