
Pair of Wings rookies named to NLL All-Rookie Team

Wings forward Ryan Ward and defenseman Thomas Hajek, were named to the 2004 NLL All-Rookie Team, chosen by the NLL governors, general managers, and coaches this week.
"We felt fortunate that we were able to draft two of the best players available this year," said Wings' President Russ Cline. "I know they will continue to improve and be premiere players in this league and will help the Wings regain our prominence as a winning team. We are proud that both players have been recognized for their outstanding achievements this season."
Ward recorded a total of 37 points (18G, 19A) and was awarded Rookie of the Week twice during the 2004 season. Ward also scored three power-play goals, and had 74 shots on goal, and collected 45 loose balls. Ward had a career high of six points in his three goal, three assist performance against the Buffalo Bandits on January 10, 2004.
Hajek recorded one goal and two assists this season and collected 74 loose balls. He led the team in penalty time with 55 minutes.
