NECBL Player of the Week (Week ending July 23)

First week Player of the Week Pizzano continues his All-Star season with another stellar week. Dario hit at a .500 pace with 13 hits, scoring 8 times, adding 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 5 RBI. His OBP was .581 and SLG .692. He led the Navs to a double-header sweep of the Bay Sox on the 22nd knocking in 4 runs.

Other superlatives for the week include:

Conrad Gregor (Vanderbilt/Freshman/Carmel, IN) helped the Gulls stay on top in the East knocking in 10 RBI and belting 3 homers. Trevor Edwards (UNC Greensboro/Freshman/Toronto, ON) kept New Bedford in the playoff hunt with 14 hits including one each of a double, triple, and HR, with 10 RBI. Tim Quinn (Assumption Coll./Junior//Paxton, MA) did all he could for Old Orchard Beach hitting .444 for the week, with a homer and 7 RBI.

NECBL Pitcher of the Week (Week ending July 23)

Chris became the fifth pitcher in NECBL history and first for Laconia to throw a no-hitter. The 6'3" righty redshirt freshman from Lincoln, RI tamed the surging Keene team striking out 9 Swamp Bats and throwing 70 strikes out of 107 pitches. Costantino capped off the week with a 14 strikeout, 5-1 win over New Bedford on the 23rd. As a standout for Bishop Hendricken High School, prepster Costantino was selected by the Red Sox in the 49th round of the 2009 draft.
