Brooklyn Aviators News Release

BROOKLYN, New York - The Brooklyn Aviators picked up their second win in as many nights after defeating the New Jersey Outlaws 9-3 on Saturday night in Federal Hockey League action at the Aviator Sports and Events Center.

Nick Petriello and Chris Campanale each recorded a hat-trick, while seven different Aviators nabbed multiple points in the victory over New Jersey.

It took 17-seconds into the first period for Kevin Cooper to light the lamp for the Outlaws, however the Aviators did not let that early goal get to them as they took a 4-2 lead into the first intermission. Campanale and Andrew Owsiak both tallied for Brooklyn after the Cooper goal to give the Aviators a 2-1 edge halfway through the period. Cooper, who was named to the All FHL First-Team, then tied it late in the frame with his second of the period coming on a breakaway. The Aviators though capitalized on the power play with two markers coming on the man-advantage from Petriello and Jason Dolgy.

Petriello tallied his second of the night, on the power play again, just 2:22 into the second period to give the Aviators a 5-2 lead. Campanale also scored his second of the night at the 8:02 mark to put Brooklyn up over New Jersey 6-2. Anthony Battaglia's one timer got past the glove of A's netminder Mike DiLorenzo to cut the Outlaws deficit in half to 6-3, however it was the Aviators skating into the second intermission up three on the Outlaws.

Up 6-3 skating into the third period, the Aviators did not let off the gas pedal and added three more markers from Steve Koich, Petreillo, and Campanale - completing both their hat-tricks - to ice the 9-3 victory over the Outlaws.

Outlaws' netminder Adam Dekker took the loss after surrendering four goals on 14 shots in 17:29 of action, while DiLorenzo earns his fourth win of the year after making 32 saves.

Brooklyn closes out the 2011-12 regular season Sunday afternoon when they take on the New Jersey Outlaws at 4:35 p.m. at the Capital One Ice Vault Arena. Catch all the action live via the Outlaws broadcast network powered by LiveSportsVideo.com.
