
Paes Wins French Open Men's Doubles Title

Saturday, June 6, 2009 - Washington Kastles star and world no. 5 ranked doubles player Leander Paes won his ninth career Grand Slam title today, partnering with Lukas Dlouhy to defeat Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, to win the French Open men's doubles championship.
Paes, who also captured the Roland Garros doubles title in 1999 and 2001, now has five Grand Slam men's doubles titles and four mixed doubles championships. This is his first Grand Slam since winning the 2008 US Open mixed doubles championship last summer.
The next Grand Slam event for Paes and Dlouhy is Wimbledon, which Paes won in 1999.
