
Paco Lopez Named Solar Bears PA Announcer

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that Paco Lopez from 1059 Sunny FM has been named the Public Address Announcer for Solar Bears games played at the Amway Center. John Magrino, who handles the PA for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Bryan "Bull" Sklover, from "The Buckethead Show" on 104.1 WKTS, will serve as alternate PA Announcers.
Paco Lopez previously served as the PA announcer for various professional and amateur sports teams, including the Orlando Magic, Orlando Miracle, United States Olympic Basketball team, and the WNBA All-Star Game. He has over 30 years of experience in professional broadcasting and is currently the midday personality on WOCL/1059 Sunny FM in Orlando, and was ranked #1 across various demographics in the July 2012 ratings. Lopez has been nominated three times as Syndicated Radio Personality of the Year by Billboard Monitor Magazine and is also a licensed ring announcer by the Florida State Boxing Commission.
John Magrino is currently an administrative dean at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando after previously serving eight years as the high school's Athletic Director. He has worked for the past fifteen years as the PA announcer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets over the course of his career. Magrino recently lent his voice to EA Sports in the popular Madden video game franchise, and in 2009 served as the PA announcer for the BCS National Championship Game at Dolphin Stadium and will reprise this role in 2013.
Bryan Sklover is currently the producer and co-host of The Buckethead Show on WTKS Orlando, the #1 rated midday show in the M25-54 market. He also serves as a radio instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Orlando and also appears regularly on WLGX Louisville and WJRR Orlando. Previously, Sklover has held several positions as producer, programmer, and on-air talent to a number of radio stations in the Orlando area and has hosted BikeMS, the CCFA Walk, and the Sanford 4th of July Fireworks show.

The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and AHL's Houston Aeros, are coming Out of Hibernation and will play 36 regular season home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center, beginning October 20, 2012.
