West Valley City, UT (July 29, 2003) â The Utah Warriors will be presented the 2003 Pacific Conference Champs Trophy Wednesday July 30th at 7:30 pm at the E-Center. Both fans and media are invited to attend this event.
The Warriors finished the regular season 11 and 3, with an impressive 6 and 1 home record. In the post season the team is now 2 and 0, including a huge road win versus the Omaha Beef back on July 19th.
The trophy will be presented Wednesday before the team's final practice. Coach Lee Leslie has given the players Thursday off and the team travels early Friday morning to Wheeling, West Virginia. The Ohio Valley Greyhounds (Wheeling) earned the home field advantage by going undefeated in this season. They are also the defending NIFL champions of the 2002 season.
The Warriors come into this game a 4.5-point underdog. The underdog title has accompanied the team the entire season , although it hasn't deterred the team so far. With the #1 offense (Utah) going up against the #1 defense (Ohio Valley) this is being touted as the most exciting Indoor Bowl yet!
