Owner Says "Diesel Will Last"

Bruce Bailey, owner of the Tri-City Diesel, announced a contract extension for Head Coach Leland Skeen this week. The extension is for a five-year period.
"We feel very fortunate to have executed this extension," said Bailey. "This guarantees the quality of the program into the future." The Diesel, a member of the National Indoor Football League, is in its second year of operation.
Coach Skeen, operating under a one-year pact in the inaugural season, saw that extended to five years at the close of last year's season. "This erases any doubt and proves that the Diesel is alive," said the coach. "I knew it would take time to build a program from scratch, and this extension guarantees that the time will be available."
Bailey, although not having personally fielded any concerns about the future of the Diesel, said the extension should quell any fears there might be about the existence of the operation. "This is a statement that the Diesel will last another five years," he said. The extension is an important expression of the confidence felt toward the staff of the Diesel," he added.
The Tri-City Diesel has four games in the remaining five weeks of the season, including one more home game. After a bye this week the Diesel entertains another in-state foe, the Lincoln Capitols, on June 8. A game at LaCrosse, a bye, a trip to Sioux City, and the season's finale, a rematch with Lincoln at Lincoln on July 5, round out the end of the schedule for the Diesel.
