Own Goal Dooms Dynamo 1-0

March 13, 2015 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Houston Dynamo FC News Release

Orlando City SC secured a 1-0 over the Houston Dynamo on Friday as an own goal by Tyler Deric in the second half was the difference before a sellout crowd at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Dynamo travel to face the LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 21 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. Houston will return home to host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, March 28 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Orlando City's scoring play began with a back pass from David Horst to Deric and the Dynamo goalkeeper took one touch but it carried away and was intercepted by Orlando City substitute forward Pedro Ribeiro, who pushed the ball past Deric. The two pursued the ball and Deric tried to punch the ball away but it hit the side of the net for an unfortunate own goal.

Earlier in the night, Deric made an outstanding save, diving to his right to parry Kaka's 30-yard free kick past the post.
