Outlaws to Scrimmage Albert Lea

September 5, 2008 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
North Iowa Outlaws News Release

Mason City (IA) The North Iowa Outlaws and Albert Lea Thunder will face each other 13 times during the upcoming regular season, but will get a chance to feel out the newborn rivalry this Wednesday morning, September 10, at the Albert Lea City Arena. The Outlaws will take part in a controlled scrimmage with Albert Lea beginning at 11am with the public invited to attend.

Unlike a regular exhibition game, the situations and scenarios will be controlled as both teams will work on their special teams and set situations in addition to having a free flow scrimmage.

"This is a chance to our players to get a taste of game action and get their legs ready for the rigors of an actual game, but at the same time allow us a chance to work on specific situations" said Outlaws' head coach Jeff Crouse.

The Outlaws will begin the 2008-2009 season September 17-20 in Blaine, MN at the annual NAHL Showcase. Training camp is currently underway at the Albert Lea City Arena with daily practices from 10:30am-12:30pm.

The Outlaws play their first home game on Friday September 26th versus the expansion Owatonna Express at 7:30pm.

The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
