Outlaws Right the Wagon Against Bobcats

December 6, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
North Iowa Outlaws News Release

Bismarck has been a good place for the Outlaws, who entered Thursday game after a tough weekend against Southern Minnesota last weekend. The Outlaws, who were a perfect 8-0 against the Bobcats last season, came out and played even with Bismarck for two periods, but in the third, North Iowa found a way to get the job done on goals from Max Mobley and AJ Knapp.

In the opening period the Outlaws and the Bobcats exchanged a scoring chance or two but neither held the edge in control as the Outlaws held a 12- 9 shots advantage. The second was much of the same, only the Bobcats held the edge in shots 13-12. Bismarck put up on good scoring chance but the Outlaws Robby Moss made the save when needed to keep the goose egg on the board.

In the final period, AJ Knapp picked a fine time to score his first goal of the season, sending a shot from the point that snaked its way through traffic and into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Max Mobley and Shea Walters tallied the assist. Mobley added to the Outlaws lead with a tap home goal after some nice work from Skarda and Walters.

Bismarck made it close with a goal with two minutes remaining. Moss, who appeared to be shaken up after a scrum in front, fought off the pain and came away with the win, his 16th of the season, stopping 30 of 31 shots. The Outlaws and Bobcats finish off the series Saturday at the VFW Sports Center in Bismarck.
