San Angelo Saints News Release

San Angelo – The San Angelo Outlaws of the Central Hockey League have announced today that they have re-signed last season Outlaws' Rookie of the Year, Kori Davison, for the upcoming 2002-2003 hockey season. Davison, a native on Vernon, British Columbia, will be the Outlaws 5th signing and for the upcoming season and will be considered a developmental player this season after playing more 25 games professionally in his career. Davison will have a chance to show off his talent and skill as he has been invited to attend the Detroit Red Wings training camp in the early fall. "Kori is a good young player," said Outlaws head coach Brent Scott. "It is always great when one of your players has a chance to go to an upper level of play and I wish him the best of luck!"

Davison came to Outlaws last season after playing only 25 games for the El Paso Buzzards during the 2000-2001 season. In those 25 games he racked up 7 points and 35 penalty minutes. This last season, after the merger of the WPHL and CHL, the league set up guidelines to set rookie and veteran players. Davison, who barely fit under the restrictions of 25 games or less, was considered one of the Outlaws three mandatory rookies for the 2001-2002 season. For the Outlaws he scored 18 goals, assisted on 15 others and amassed 271 penalty minutes, the most of last seasons team. His great playing and determination also awarded him with the Outlaws Rookie of the Year Award following the season finale. "I feel honored as a coach to have a player of Kori's caliber," stated Scott. "I also know that San Angelo should feel honored for a having a player with this much talent wanting to play here!"
