North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Mason City (IA) Being a part of a cheerleading squad and attending North Iowa Outlaws' games aren't something that is foreign to Jami Hepperly. Now the life-long Mason City resident is going to be combining the two as she has been hired as the Outlaws' first-ever dance team coordinator.
"I am very excited about setting up this dance team and helping out the Outlaws" said Hepperly, who has been a volunteer for the team in other capacities in the past. "I saw the team was looking for someone on their website and I felt I could use my experience to help."
Tryouts for the new dance team will be announced shortly, with the team's first appearance at a home game coming at a to be determined date in October.
Hepperly spent four-seasons as a cheerleader at Mason City high school and one year as a cheerleader for the NIACC basketball program. No stranger to hockey, as a cheerleader for the Mohawks she attended numerous high school games and was a fan of the former North Iowa Huskies junior team.
Hepperly and her husband Matt celebrated the birth of their first child on April 5, 2008. She is currently employed at Mason City Chiropractic and enjoys spending time with her family, biking and the occasional round of the golf.
The Outlaws will begin the 2008-2009 season September 17-20 in Blaine, MN at the annual NAHL Showcase. Training camp is currently underway at the Albert Lea City Arena with daily practices from 10:30am-12:30pm.
The Outlaws play their first home game on Friday September 26th versus the expansion Owatonna Express at 7:30pm.
The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
