North Iowa Outlaws News Release
(Mason City, IA) The North Iowa Outlaws have announced that Steve Strasheim has officially been named the team's General Manager.
Strasheim replaces Rick Wesp, who has been the team's GM since their inaugural season. Wesp remains with the Outlaws but has turned his concentrations towards hockey operations, taking on the title of Director of Hockey Operations.
"Steve has a lot of experience which we look to draw on to take us to the next level." said Mark Motz, owner. Strasheim comes to Mason City having spent the previous five seasons with the Fargo-Moorhead JETS, of the NAHL.
"The first priority for me is to continue the great tradition that these guys have started here" said Steve. "Mason City has been one of the toughest places for Fargo to play for the last couple of years; the fans were quite intimidating for our guys to play against." adding with a chuckle "I'm glad I'm on their side now." Strasheim begins his duties immediately with the Outlaws. "Expect to see some new things this season when you come out to a game."
Strasheim will be the first of a few new faces being added to the staff of the outlaws this summer. The search has already begun for a radio broadcaster as well as various sales and marketing positions.
