
OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

May 27, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force quarterback Chris Greisen, Tampa Bay Storm defensive lineman Tom Briggs and Utah Blaze kicker Steve Videtich were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week thirteen of the AFL season.
Greisen completed 26 of 30 passes (87%) for 266 yards, four touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in the Force's 40-29 victory over the New Orleans VooDoo.
Briggs had one sack, two and a half tackles and one forced fumble in the Storm's 58-48 victory over Cleveland.
Videtich was 6-7 on extra points and made the game winning 18-yard field goal in the Blaze's 51-48 victory over the Chicago Rush.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were Kansas City WR Charles Frederick, Arizona QB Charles Smoker, Utah QB Joe Germaine, San Jose WR Rodney Wright and Tampa Bay QB Brett Dietz.
Others considered for Defensive award were San Jose DB Marquis Floyd, San Jose DB Clevan Thomas, Colorado DB Antonio Malone, Dallas DB Will Pettis and Georgia DB Stephen Cason.
Other players considered for Special Team honors included Colorado's Chad Owens (eight returns for 158 yards) Colorado's Deric Yaussi (6-6 on extra points and one touchback,) San Jose's A.J. Haglund (8-8 on extra points and one 19-yard field goal), San Jose's Rodney Wright (five returns for 120 yards) and Dallas Remy Hamilton (8-8 on extra points). Previous winners:
