OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

May 6, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Cleveland Gladiators fullback Marlion Jackson, Orlando Predators defensive back Kenny McEntyre and Orlando Predators kicker John Vaughn were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week ten of the AFL season.
Jackson had 11 carries for 49 yards and four touchdowns in the Gladiators' 67-55 victory over the Philadelphia Soul.
McEntyre came up with two interceptions returned 9 and 47 yards for touchdowns, one forced fumble and one pass breakup in the Predators 61-35 victory over the San Jose SaberCats.
Vaughn made two field goals (both 28-yards) and went 7-7 on extra points in the Predators' victory ove the San Jose SaberCats.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were Cleveland QB Raymond Philyaw, Colorado QB John Dutton, Utah QB Joe Germaine, Dallas WR Marcus Nash, Columbus WR Derek Lee.
Others considered for Defensive award were Cleveland DB Brandon Hefflin, San Jose DB Marquis Floyd, Colorado DL Aaron McConnell, Tampa Bay LB Lawrence Samuels and Tampa Bay DL Tom Briggs.
Other players considered for Special Team honors included Cleveland's Willis Marshall (four returns for 125 yards) , Georgia's Carlos Martinez (9-9 on extra points and a 34-yard field goal), Los Angeles Tyler Fredrickson (9-9 on extra points and a 18-yard field goal), Orlando's T.T. Toliver (five returns for 98 yards, including a 58 yard return for a touchdown), and Chicago's Jonathan Ordway (four returns for 120 yards).
