OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

Colorado Crush quarterback John Dutton, Georgia Force defensive back Cam Newton and Cleveland Gladiators kicker Jason Ball were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week six of the AFL season.
Dutton was 32-50 (64%) for 334 yards, eight touchdown passes, one rushing touchdown and one interception in the Crush's 67-54 victory over the Los Angeles Avengers.
Newton had two interceptions returned 45 and 14 yards for touchdowns and four and a half tackles in the Force's 70-63 victory over the Kansas City Brigade.
Ball went a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals (28, 22 and 26 yards) 6-for-6 on extra points and added one special teams tackle in the Gladiators 58-51 loss to the Dallas Desperados.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were Philadelphia QB Matt D'Orazio, Dallas WR Marcus Nash, Georgia QB Chris Greisen, Colorado WR Ben Nelson, and Philadelphia WR Chris Jackson.
Others considered for the Defensive award were New York DB John Walker, Dallas DB Bobby Perry, New Orleans DB Calvin Spears, Colorado DB Rashad Floyd and Chicago LB DeJuan Alfonzo.
Other players considered for Special Teams honors included Georgia's Peter Martinez (10-10 on extra points) Kansas City's Peter Martinez (8-8 on extra points) Chicago Dan Frantz (8-8 on extra points) New York's Chris Onorato (9-9 on extra points) and Orlando's T.T. Toliver (55-yard return for a touchdown).
