Ottawa SkyHawks breaks Brampton A's 5 game winning streak

Brampton, Ontario. The Ottawa SkyHawks snapped Brampton 5-game winning streak in their house, Powerade Centre, with a win of 114-102.

Coach Jackson who's come up against the #1 Brampton team for the first time tonight, says "big road win for the SkyHawks. Execution was the key."

The last time these teams met on November 21, the SkyHawks lost by their biggest gap of 37 points with a score of 87-124.

With an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter to shorten the gap, the Ottawa SkyHawks played tenacious defense, which is the hallmark of new Head Coach Jaren Jackson.

Technical Director Merrick Palmer, who couldn't pry himself away from watching the game online at work, long enough to drive home says `the guys didn't give up, even when they were down by 17 points, showing toughness and resiliency against the #1 team in the league, that's a great comeback".

Ryan Anderson who ranks number 1 in total steals for the NBL at 26, was tonight's top scorer and was successful in 5 of his 7 attempts at a 3 point shot!!

Fred Sturdivant with a game high 16 rebounds, says "we stayed composed the whole game even through adversity, we continued to stick with Coach Jackson's game plan defensively and the rest took care of itself".

Belleville Ontario's Jamie Vanderbeken said "we hit a rough spot going into the half but came out in the second focused and executed well on both sides of the floor".

The SkyHawks will face the Brampton A's again this week at home.

Their back at home for back to back games Wednesday and Thursday.
